ORC Week 1: Eclectic Modern Dining Room Makeover
The One Room Challenge is finally here again!! If you’re new to my blog, I did my first ORC last season- and gave our master bedroom a much needed makeover! I decided to join in again as a guest participant this year. This time I’m making over our DINING ROOM! I’ll start by saying that there’s really nothing wrong with our dining room, except that since my style and the rest of our house has evolved- the dining room hasn’t changed. I’ve been wanting to switch it up to make it fit in with the rest our home and feel more like my style.

A little reminder of what some fresh paint + the right sized rug and furniture can do for a space!
Anyway… one of our friends graciously already painted the walls for us, and I’ve also replaced the rug with a bigger jute rug (courtesy of RugsUSA). So here are some photos of how the dining room currently looks:
The paint color is custom mixed by Sherwin Williams - I loved their color ‘SW 9167 Polished Concrete’ but wanted something a little lighter. It ended up being beautiful! It’s a warm gray with purple undertones, and definitely looks different depending on how much light is coming in. Once I saw the new wall color, I knew immediately that I had to pair it with some brass/ gold accents and try and find a way to work some shades of red or blue in my decor too.
